Overview

The Walter Dearing Club Championships are the premier individual championships at Allendale Country Club, offering members the opportunity to compete for championship titles across multiple divisions. Every championship begins with an 18-hole stroke play qualifying round, with the top eight players in each division advancing to a match play bracket.

Championship Format

All divisions will begin with an 18-hole stroke play qualifying round on Saturday, July 18. The low eight qualifiers in each division will advance to a scratch or net match play championship bracket, depending on the division.

If there is a tie for the final qualifying position, a sudden-death playoff will determine the final qualifier.

Walter Dearing Club Championship

The Walter Dearing Club Championship is Allendale Country Club’s highest individual honor and is contested at scratch.

Eligibility

Players with a GHIN Handicap Index of 10.0 or lower as of the June 28 Mass Golf Handicap Revision are eligible.

18-hole Gross Stroke Play Qualifier

Scratch Match Play Championship

Champion

The winner will be crowned the 2026 Walter Dearing Club Champion.

Senior Championship (Net)

Eligibility

Players age 55 and older.

Format

18-hole Net Stroke Play Qualifier

Gold Tees: Age + Handicap Index = 72–89

Silver Tees: Age + Handicap Index = 90+

Men’s Open Championship (Net)

Eligibility

Open to all eligible male members.
